Description

Leicester City Football Club dates back to 1884, when it was founded as Leicester Fosse by the young members of a local Bible class. Elected to the Football League in 1894, promotion to the First Division came in 1908. In 1919, Fosse became City. Since then, the Second Division title has been won on six occasions, but the coveted League Championship has yet to find its way to Filbert Street, the club’s home since 1891.
